The Ultimate Christmas List for Engaged Couples

The holiday season is a time for family, friends, and of course – gift giving! If you are newly engaged, the holiday season may provide an opportunity to get a jump start on some most-wanted wedding items. We compiled a list of 8 great items to add to your holiday list to move your wedding planning forward!

  1. A wedding planning book. Looking for where to start? We recommend Mindy Weiss’s Wedding Planning Book, or A Practical Wedding. Both are great reads (though very different vibes) and full of so much information!
  2. A photo album. Wait, what? I’m only engaged! Fair point, but many album companies run excellent holiday sales and allow your family to purchase a gift card. If your photography package does not include an album, this is a great add to your list. If you need album company recommendations, let us know!
  3. Cake knife and server. You may want a beautiful server for photos, but we won’t often recommend spending too much of your budget on such a low-impact item. This is a great Christmas list item to have your cake, and eat it too!
  4. Bridal Jewelry. Have a particular set of earrings in mind for the big day? Maybe a nice necklace? Add them to list! If you haven’t bought your dress yet, be sure to pick pieces you would still otherwise wear, in case they don’t match the final style.
  5. Gift certificate to a day-of beauty service. This is a big one for many brides! The thought of being pampered on your wedding day is wonderful, but the bill not so much. A gift certificate to your hairstylist, makeup artist, or even a local spa can help!
  6. Secondary Wedding Outfits. Haven’t taken your engagement photos yet? If you have a particular outfit that you know you want to wear, add it to your list! Have a beautiful brunch dress in your cart? Ask for it from a family member! Just be sure to include sizing information.
  7. Custom Decals or Signs. Anyone in your life feeling particularly generous? Perhaps you can partner with them to help design a fun neon sign, dance floor or bar decal, or other personalized item you can display on your big day. They’ll love being involved, and you’ll love the savings!
  8. Cards/Invitations. Wedding stationary can be expensive, and you’ll need quite a bit of it! Perhaps add some thank-you cards or beautiful stamps to your holiday list.
