Questions To Ask Your Wedding Photographer

Questions to ask your wedding photographer. Evermore Occasions

So you’re getting married and you want to make sure your wedding photos will capture the special day as perfectly as possible. You know that finding a great photographer is essential for this, but how do you know if they are the right fit? Here are some of the questions you should ask your wedding photographer before saying “I do” to their services.

What is Your Process?
It’s important to know what processes the photographer has in place to ensure that your wedding photos come out just the way you want them. Ask about their workflow, any editing techniques they use, and how long it typically takes them to deliver their finished product. This can help give you an idea of what kind of experience working with them will be like.

Do You Have a Portfolio?
A portfolio of past work is one of the best ways to get a feel for what kind of results a photographer can provide. Don’t be afraid to ask for full galleries—this gives them an opportunity to show off their best work and gives you a chance to see if it lines up with your vision for your wedding photos. It also helps ensure that there won’t be any surprises when it comes time for delivery!

What Is Included in Your Package?
Different photographers offer different packages, so make sure you take some time to compare offers and ask questions about what is included in each package. If there’s something specific that you want (or don’t want) included in your package, let your potential photographers know so that they can tailor their offering accordingly. That way, you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for without breaking the bank!

What are your cancellation and COVID policies?
In recent years, it is no surprise that cancellation and COVID policies have become a hot topic. Be sure that your photographer has contract provisions that outline everyone’s responsibility (financial and coverage-wise) in case of emergency or rescheduling. If your photographer does not work on a broader team, how would they find a replacement in a last-minute crisis?

Do you have specific meal or break requirements?
It should be no surprise: you need to feed your wedding vendors! Not only are they working a hard 10+ hour day, but often weddings occur during at least one meal time. However, some photographers require extensive or frequent breaks, require eating exactly what the guests are eating, or have a long list of must-haves in order to “guarantee performance.” Depending on the circumstance, these may be red flags.

Above all, make sure that your personalities mesh during your consultation call! Your photographer will spend most of your wedding day with you, so you want to be sure that you click. If you need help finding your perfect photographer, get in touch! We’d love to help you make this incredibly important decision.
